Airtel
Bangladesh Limited, the fastest growing telecom operator in Bangladesh,
signed an agreement with Dutch Bangla Bank Limited on September 12,
2011 to introduce M-commerce Services to a larger segment of population.
The signing ceremony was held at the Banani corporate head office of
Airtel Bangladesh.
Within 8 months of launching the brand, airtel
has engaged into this partnership, which is going to facilitate mobile
customer with banking at their fingertips. With this initiative,
existing & new Airtel customers will be able to open bank accounts
and avail banking services; additionally existing DBBL mobile banking
customers can get serviced at Airtel outlets. Airtel subscribers will
now be able to conduct their financial transactions by using their hand
held mobile device through a convenient and affordable process. This
partnership will be aimed at making the concept of inclusive banking a
reality for customers in Bangladesh.

T. Mr. A.S.M. Sakib Sikder, Head of legal of
Airtel and Mir Mominul Huq, VP & Head of Mobile Banking Division of
DBBL inked the deal on behalf of their respective organization. Chief
Executive Officer & Managing Director of Airtel, Mr. Chris Tobit and
Mr. K. Shamshi Tabrez, Managing Director of DBBL exchanged the signed
documents in presence of Chief Service Officer & Head-M Commerce of
airtel, Ms. Rubaba Dowla and Deputy Managing Director Mr. A. K. M.
Shirin from DBBL. Chief Sales & Marketing Officer Mr. Abhay Seth and
Chief Financial Officer Mr. S.K. Mukhopadhyay from Airtel Bangladesh
Ltd were also present during the signing ceremony.
