Local Government Division (LGD), Access to Information (A2I) Programme, currently Support to Digital Bangladesh of the Prime Minister's Office and Robi Axiata Limited recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the aim of reaching mobile phone services to the doorstepof the rural people. National Project Director of the A2I Programme Md Nazrul Islam Khan, Additional Secretary of Local Government Division Syed Mahbub Hasan and Chief Marketing Officer of Robi Bidyut Kumar Basu signed the MoU on the behalf of their respective organizations at the Prime Minister's Office. Under the MoU, Robi will implement their services at 800union information service centres (UISCs) within one year in the country. The remaining UISCs will be brought under the programme in phases.

ইউনিয়ন পর্যায়ে গণমানুষের কাছে তথ্যসেবা আরো সহজতর করতে মোবাইল ফোন অপারেটর রবি, স্থানীয় সরকার বিভাগ ও প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কার্যালয়ের 'সাপোর্ট টু ডিজিটাল বাংলাদেশ' প্রকল্পের মধ্যে মোবাইল ফোনসংক্রান্ত সম্ভাব্য সব ধরনের সুবিধা দেওয়ার জন্য একটি ত্রিপক্ষীয় চুক্তি সই হয়েছে।
প্রধানমন্ত্রীর কার্যালয়ে গতকাল সোমবার সাপোর্ট টু ডিজিটাল বাংলাদেশের জাতীয় প্রকল্প পরিচালক মো. নজরুল ইসলাম খান, স্থানীয় সরকার বিভাগের অতিরিক্ত সচিব সৈয়দ মাহবুব হাসান ও রবির প্রধান বাণিজ্যিক কর্মকর্তা বিদ্যুৎ কুমার বসু নিজ নিজ প্রতিষ্ঠানের পক্ষে চুক্তিতে সই করেন। চুক্তি অনুযায়ী রবি মোবাইল ফোনসংক্রান্ত সম্ভাব্য সব সেবা (ডেটা কানেকটিভিটি, ইলেকট্রনিক রিচার্জ সার্ভিস ও পিসিও কানেকটিভিটি) প্যাকেজ আকারে চার হাজার ৫০১টি ইউনিয়ন পরিষদের ইউনিয়ন ইনফরমেশন অ্যান্ড সার্ভিস সেন্টারে প্রদান করবে।
প্রথম পর্যায়ে আগামী এক বছরের মধ্যে এ কার্যক্রমের আওতায় ৮০০ ইউনিয়ন পরিষদে সেবা প্রদান করবে রবি। পর্যায়ক্রমে সব ইউনিয়ন পরিষদে এ সেবা চালু করা হবে। এ কার্যক্রম চালু হলে গ্রামাঞ্চলের সাধারণ মানুষ ইউনিয়ন তথ্য ও সেবাকেন্দ্র (ইউআইএসসি) থেকে রবি সিম ব্যবহার করে মোবাইল ব্যাংকিং সুবিধাও পাবে। এ ছাড়া 'রবি অর্থ' কার্যক্রম চালু হলে ইউআইএসসি থেকে রেমিট্যান্সের অর্থ সংগ্রহ এবং বিভিন্ন নাগরিক পরিসেবার বিল পরিশোধ করতে পারবে।
চুক্তি সম্পর্কে রবির প্রধান বিপণন কর্মকর্তা বিদ্যুৎ কুমার বসু বলেন, ইউনিয়ন পর্যায়ে গণমানুষের মধ্যে সরকারি এ সেবার অংশীদার হতে পেরে রবি পরিবার আনন্দিত।
চুক্তি স্বাক্ষর অনুষ্ঠানে রবির ভাইস প্রেসিডেন্ট (মার্কেট অপারেশন) সা'দাত আদনান আহমাদ, ভাইস প্রেসিডেন্ট মুহাম্মদ শাহেদুল আলম, ম্যানেজার (মার্কেট অপারেশন) মো. আতাউল হক প্রমুখ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।
